Interior Designer, Chad Dorsey Design
Chad Dorsey makes the spaces where people feel their most comfortable. The Tennessee-born designer has spent the last 20 years creating luxurious yet approachable interiors that are a true reflection of his clients’ personalities. Trained as an architect, Dorsey balances scale, proportion, and light with honest materiality, enticing color, and curated collections of sculptural furnishings and objects in every project. Each element is handcrafted or hand-selected to achieve a meaningful home, as defined by the people who live there.
Based in Dallas with an outpost in Los Angeles, Dorsey’s eponymous studio has gained a loyal following of clients who share his penchant for clean-lined architecture and warm, inviting interiors. The versatile designer focuses on what makes a space feel special. To do so, Dorsey gets to the heart of what truly matters to each client at home, discovered through a design process that involves deeply engaged listening and building mutual trust. From there, his inspirations are as diverse as the interiors he envisions, from cars to structures to fashion, and never trend based. Going against the grain is his signature.
Dorsey has designed homes across the United States, ranging from cozy city cottages to family-friendly sprawling estates. Dorsey has been featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, Veranda, Vogue Living, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Paper City and D-home.
In 2024 Dorsey launched the 2.0 Collection for his visionary bespoke fireplace STRIKE, the 2.0 Collection follows up the successful Original Collection; Dorsey debuted his collection of 13 handpicked stones with Aria Stone Gallery, and STRIKE fireplaces for Ann Sacks. This exclusive to Ann Sacks collection features 6 original designs from STRIKE.
If that isn’t enough, he is releasing his debut monograph, “Chad Dorsey”, published by Assouline. The book features thirteen of Dorsey’s most impactful residential projects to date, including a private home wine bar, a major collector’s gallery-like abode, and his own former house, a Malibu surf shack constructed in the middle of Dallas. Through personal anecdotes and rich presentations of lush images, Dorsey dives deeply into each design, revealing the constant evolution of his practice that has built his reputation as a visionary tastemaker.
