The 2020 Judges
In 1998, Alexa Hampton took over ownership and design leadership of Mark Hampton, where she completed a wide range of designs in locations from New York City to Hangzhou, China. She is on the board of trustees for the New York School of Interior Design, The New York Landmarks Conservancy and the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art. Alexa has also designed a growing stable of home products for brands including Kravet, Theodore Alexander, Stark Carpet, Visual Comfort & Co., Chesneys, SA Baxter, White River, The Shade Store and Globus Cork. Alexa is a graduate of Brown University and has done graduate work at New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts, both in Italy and New York. She has received honorary PhDs from Moore College of Art & Design and the New York School of Interior Design. Alexa is the author of The Language of Interior Design and Decorating in Detail and has been a contributing columnist for The Wall Street Journal’s Saturday “Off Duty” section. She was also included in Jennifer Boles’ recent book, Inspired Design: The 100 Most Important Designers of the Past 100 Years; Thomas Jayne’s book, The Finest Rooms in America and William Norwich’s book, Interiors: The Greatest Rooms of the Century.
