The objective for this 1948 ranch-style residence in San Antonio was to balance tradition and innovation while staying environmentally minded. For example, strategic planning allowed for the reuse of wood from the previous structure, while photovoltaic panels, a green roof, gray-water harvesting and LED lighting were also added. The team implemented shade-producing arbors and overhangs and took care to protect several heritage oak trees.
